Author Visit : Emily Chenoweth (BCS Event)

Emily Chenoweth, author of the upcoming Klawde: Evil Alien Warlord Cat, will be at BCS on Wednesday, Feb. 27 (8:40-9:30 at South; 10:00-10:40 at North)

If you are interested in preordering a book, here is the order form. Due to complications with break, the order form is due on Monday, 2/25 by 3:30 in your campus' office. Unfortunately we cannot accept late order forms.

This new series is for Grades 2-5. It definitely will appeal to fans of Dav Pilkey (who gives it an enthusiastic “Two Paws Up!”) and Max Braillier (Last Kids on Earth), who says the series is “Brilliant…Klawde is the pet I wish I had.”

In Vol. 1, Raj Banerjee has just moved from (big, exciting) Brooklyn, NY to (small, quiet) Elba, Oregon. Worried about starting a new school in the Fall, and dismayed at his mother’s insistence that he attend summer camp (really “Survival Camp”), he is delighted to welcome a stray cat into his new home. Little does he know that this is no ordinary cat. Instead, it is Klawde, a supremely intelligent, tech-savvy, ruthless emperor who has recently been exiled from his planet, Lytterboks, and teleported to the primitive planet Earth. Klawde sees Raj as a tool to help him achieve his goal of re-conquering Lytterboks and achieving global supremacy.

Fall Family Dinner - Superheroes Unite!

  • Bullis Charter School, North Campus (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Superheroes Unite! Mark your calendar for the first school-wide social event of the year! BCS students and their families are invited to come together and reconnect after the summer at our annual Fall Family Dinner! This year's theme will be Superheroes.

We need your help to make this event great. Please sign up to volunteer!

The Fall Family Dinner has three main components: Dinner, Cakewalk and Book sale.

1) Dinner - You're welcome to bring your own meal. Food Trucks will be available for sale at the event from 5-7pm. Check out the menus from each of the food trucks below!

43 and Co Menu

MoBowl Menu

Eat on Monday Menu

Picnic tables will be available on a first come first seated basis. Many families prefer to bring picnic blankets and sit on the field to enjoy their food.

2) Cakewalk  - Children love this part of the event - most students think this is the most important part of the night. The cakewalk is similar to musical chairs and the winners get to pick a cake to take home. We will have a live DJ for the event  and will play multiple rounds and have multiple winners per round. You do not have to bring a cake to participate. Any student at Bullis is welcome to join in this event.

Bring any cake you want  - you can make one (or two or three :)) yourself or bring your favorite from a store. Consider making an alternative cake that doesn't contain one or more common allergens (milk, gluten, nuts, etc.). In past years, we have had some families create non-food cakes (a book cake, a board game cake, a cake of art supplies). Feel free to be creative.  All cakes are welcome.

Your cake will automatically be entered the cake competition.  The categories for this year are:
Best Theme (Superheroes)
Best School Spirit
Best Alternate Cake
Most Original

Please fill in the volunteer sheet if you plan to bring a cake.  Please include your email address so we can send you specifics about cake drop off.

3) Book Fair - This is the final night of the North Campus Book Fair. The Book Fair will be open all through the event and at the end of the event, the Book Fair will hold the final raffle for their grand prize. All the proceeds of this sale benefit the school libraries. Please check out the Book Fair's event for more details.

Meet new families, reconnect after summer.  We would love to see you there!
