Our school vendor this year is My Green Lunch.  MyGreenLunch has made additional changes to their already stringent cleaning and sanitizing procedures in response to COVID-19. While schools were closed due to shelter-in-place, MyGreenLunch partnered with Santa Clara County to provide free meals to families in need and essential workers. Their staff undergoes temperature checks, stringent hand washing procedures, wear masks, aprons, and hair nets, frequently change disposable gloves and keep socially distant in their 4,000 square foot kitchen. All surfaces and equipment is sanitized often and all food is individually packaged for easy distribution and minimal contact. All COVID-related procedures are in line with the Santa Clara health regulations.

Q: How do I create an account to order?

A: Follow the instructions below for 1) Already have an account and are at the same campus; 2) Already have an account but moved campuses; and 3) Families that have not ordered hot lunch previously: 

1) Already have a MyGreenLunch Account and are staying at the same campus? Follow these instructions 

  • Go to www.mygreenlunch.com and click on “Order Now” at the top right corner which directs you to the log in page. Please make sure to update your child’s information including grade and teacher by clicking Student in the top nav bar and then edit under your student’s name. See below if you’ve switched campuses. 

2) Already have a MyGreenLunch Account and are moving to a different campus? Follow these instructions 

  • You will need to update your child’s campus in the MyGreenLunch website. You can do this by going to www.mygreenlunch.com and click on “Order Now” at the top right corner which directs you to the log in page. Then click Student in the top nav bar and then edit under your students name. Where it says “Change School” add one of these school codes for your relevant campus (North is 567-813 and South is 951-064).  Then make sure to update your teacher and grade for your student.

3) Never before ordered hot lunch? Follow these instructions:

  • Go to www.mygreenlunch.com and click the “Order Now” link at top right and create a new account. then add your child to your profile and select their teacher and grade. You will need the school code to set it up (North campus is 567-813 and South campus is 951-064).

Q: How do I place an order for hot lunch for my student(s)?

A: Go to www.mygreenlunch.com and click on the ‘Order Now’ tab in the right hand corner. Sign into your account and verify the grade and teacher for your student if prompted. Click on Order in the top nav. Choose the student you wish to order for by toggling the blue arrow to your other student(s). Orders must be placed separately for each student. When you click on an entree, you can toggle between regular and large size and then add to cart. Menu items listed as add-ons are meals that come in only one size and are found in the red section of the menu listing. A popup appears to the left with a description of the selected menu item. Be sure to add each menu item to your cart. Entrees come with a veggie and fruit but milk is an extra add on that you need to order separately. You must add milk (1% or chocolate) to your order if you want milk. When you are done ordering, click ‘Shopping Cart' at the top nav. Here, you can review your order and your total. Next, click ‘Place Order’. You will then receive a confirmation email confirming your order.

Q: Why is Bullis Charter School partnered with My Green Lunch?

A: My Green Lunch is a local company who has many daily food options. They have 8-14 different options every day and they use compostable packaging for 95% of their food and cutlery. Everyday there will be at least 2 Gluten Free options, 2 vegetarian options and 2 dairy free options, along with a fruit and vegetable and milk can be added.

 

Q: What is the ordering Deadline?

A: My Green lunch will be sourcing only the highest quality and freshest food for your children; this requires careful planning and sourcing. Our goal is to be sustainable and affordable, to this end we strive to minimize as much food waste as possible. But also, as a result of the global supply chain slow-down, it is necessary for My Green Lunch to change the ordering deadline to three days before lunch is served.  Please get your lunch orders in early. You can order for the whole month at one time if you prefer.

 

Example of ordering deadline, prior to 12pm:

  • Friday before 12pm for Monday lunch

  • Saturday before 12pm for Tuesday lunch

  • Sunday before 12pm for Wednesday lunch

  • etc.

 

Q: What is the cost of each meal?

A: The cost of our regular meal is $6.25, and our large meals are $6.75 (recommended for 4th grade and up). For our one size items, such as pizza, salads, and gluten free hamburgers, our prices range from $6.60 to $7.75 due to cost of the ingredients. An extra entree is $3.00. All meals come with a 1 to 2 choices of fresh fruit and vegetables

 

Q: Is there a drink included with each meal?

A: No, but Organic 1% Milk (at least 6.75 oz carton) and Organic Chocolate Milk (at least 6.75 oz carton) will be offered every day for the price of $1.30.

 

Q: Are the meals Organic?

A: The meals from My Green Lunch are organic when possible, they use many organic ingredients but won’t actually label something organic unless 95% of every single ingredient used is organic.

 

Q: Does the Bullis Charter School Booster Club receive any money for each meal?

A: Yes, MyGreenLunch collaborated with Bullis Charter School to create fundraising for the Bullis Booster Club by giving $0.50 for every meal and $1.00 for every pizza meal on Fridays back to the Bullis Booster Club.

 

Q: Where is the menu?

A: Menus will be emailed monthly by My Green Lunch. Menus can also be viewed on My Green Lunch website: www.mygreenlunch.com. Select “Order Now” and it will direct you to. mygreenlunch.h1.hotlunchonline.net/frontend.php. Here you will have access to the menu once you create an account.  SAMPLE MENU

 

Q: What is hotlunchonline.net?

A: Hotlunchonline.net is an online system that allows you to order your children’s school lunch through a secure website. You will be able to check balances, review transaction history and order meals.

 

Q: Is there a fee for using the system?

A: No, there is no fee to register or use the system. **We do have a .30 cent service charge for orders less than $15.00. ** However, this .30 cents will be credited back to your account for your next meal purchase that’s over $15.

 

Q: How often do I have to order?

A: You can order for an entire month in advance, which is what we encourage, or order one meal at a time. Once you create an account, we will send out a courtesy email, no more then twice a week, to remind you that lunch has not been ordered.

 

Q: When are the menus for the following month posted?

A: Our menu is posted to our ordering site around the 15th of the month for the upcoming month. We will send out a courtesy email to our parents notifying them that the menu is up and ready for ordering. For example, you should be able to see the October menu by the 15th of September.

 

Q: How do I manage my order history and track what I purchased?

A: After placing your order you will receive a confirmation email summarizing what you purchased for your child. As a convenience you can download and synchronize all of your child’s purchases for the month into Google or Outlook for easy recall of what was ordered. You can also log into your account to view both the calendar and list view of your purchases.

 

Q: What kind of payment do you take for your lunch orders?

A: We accept our credit card payments processed through PayPal. We also take personal checks so parents can pre-fund their account. We apply a credit to your account for the amount of the check and then you can purchase meals using the credit.

 

Q: Can you pre-load money into your account?

A: Yes, and we give a discount with pre-payments. They can be made by either mailing or dropping off checks to :

All credits from the previous school year roll over to the next year or are refunded if you leave the school. 

 

Q: Are accounts by child or family?

A: Accounts with my green lunch are done by the family email so you can have all your children under one account. When you bring up your account you will see all your children under your account. This also applies when you pre-load your account, the funds will be placed on the families account and can be used for all the children connected to that account.

 

Q: How do I cancel an order?

A: To cancel an order, click on the “order” tab. Then go to date you want to cancel and click on the “menu item” you have previously ordered. This will pop up a window and at the bottom of the window you can select “credit purchase”. You will then see the credit to your account reflected above the calendar which will be applied to your next order.

 

Q: How long do I have to cancel an order?

A: You have until 11:00 am the day before lunch is served to cancel your order to receive full credit. From 11:01 am to 5:00 pm the day before lunch is served, you can cancel by phone or by email at cancel@mygreenlunch.com for a 50% credit.

Q: How do you ensure that my child receives the meal that I have ordered for them?

A: Each entrée is labeled with your child’s first name, last name, school name, grade, specific entrée ordered, and the portion size (example: Mateo Smith, Bullis Charter School, 4th grade, Mac and Cheese, Large)

 

Q: What makes My Green lunch “Green”?

A: My Green Lunch is truly Green because of our environmentally friendly and compostable packaging, utensils and napkins. Our packaging is World Centric certified and made from plants. By having compostable packaging, utensils and napkins, we are greatly reducing our carbon footprint and allowing our foodservice products to transform waste into healthy, new soil through composting.

 

Q: Can I volunteer for Lunch Duty?

A: YES! We ask that you make a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly commitment to lunch duty and it is a year-long commitment. Training will be provided. Please sign up here!
